What's past is prologue.

Peter's instagram post is causing me to reminisce for a minute.

Birthday board. Snapped doing a 180 off a picnic table. Wearing some kind of tennis shirt. Featured in Clothes Hanger 1. The early days of my love affair with all this crap.

Blast From The Past

For some reason this thrift store had an abundance of "vintage" skate shoes. Many of them had one discolored sole. Nothing in my size or I might have copped.

DVS - Kerry Getz 4 - (can't find a year for these)

Lakai - Foster (2003)

Adio - Believe these were T. Hawks

DVS - Berra 3 (2003)

Lakai - Howard 5 (2006). Fully Flared vibes.

One Long Day Since A Relevant Santa Rosa Post

Jay Masonek linked this video he edited of old Santa Rosa footage in the comments of my last post. I have been longing for the days when I used to post actual skateboard content, so this could not have come at a better time. Bloggists, Nyquil and I, come through with one ollie-slam each.

In related news, a Bennet Valley resident just bought a VX on Ebay. More video links to come?

New Lows

Bought this tape at the thrift store because it claimed to have Santa Rosa footage. Then found out it on youtube instantly. I think video groove is the booter equivalent to 411. Nick Riggle seems like a good dude. Who else does lines through the quad at Montgomery? Also does the gap Silas did.

All Caps

Mulder was always on point. This Nike "On Tap" promo was part of the long list of videos I downloaded off of Kazaa when I was around 14 or 15. Other favorites were Santa Cruz "Uprising" and Tilt Mode "Man Down".

For The Easy Bay Heads

Cool video about the fires in the Oakland Hills, the resulting skate paradise, and the group of dudes involved. Famous fallen ones Ruben Orkin and Curtis Hsiang get little sections.

L'Histoire

I wish I owned the Sheep Shoes video. Mike Manzoori is rad. Plenty of obvious Santa Rosa stuff in here such as the skatepark and the brown banks(RIP) footage. Also note the Village bump to bar and the ender at McDonald's Mission Plaza. If you pause at around 1:59 before the trick the place is almost unrecognizable. Where's the giant Wallgreens? Where's the blocks and blocks of Acatia Apartments? I'm pretty sure there was a bowling alley there at the time.

Sweatbreaking News

GMOS switch 50-50 at Santa Rosa High circa sometime in the 90's? It's cool Pat, he did it without the skatestopper. Diesel before diesel was diesel.

Logical

SR Legend Jesse Palmer got some nostalgic schralps on the mini after the contest. Will somebody please upload sloppy seconds.

While we are on the topic. I still love this video and this part.

And I'd never seen this before... Phil Shao's b/s 180 into "maiden" and that Crazy Monaco slam among other things.

Anti-Graffiti PSA

Wouldn't it be more fun if this place still had some traction?

I had heard of this 411 segment but never saw it until Chalker put it up. Carrol, Stranger and Shao.
